Por que quando Daniel interpretou as palavras misteriosas escritas pelo dedo de Deus, omitiu a expressão 'ufarsim' colocando em seu lugar a palavra 'peres'?
Estas duas palavras são de origem aramaica e, sendo esta língua de fácil assimilação na Babilônia, podemos supor que a perplexidade do rei Belsazar e dos sábios foi devido, em parte, a alguma coisa desconhecida nos caracteres e também pela concisão inexplicável da mensagem.
O caro leitor tem de convir em que, quando Daniel foi inquirido a dar uma resposta ao enigma exposto na parede do palácio real, não houve nenhuma tentativa da sua parte em traduzi-lo, mas simplesmente interpretá-lo, sendo conivente com a revelação que Deus lhe dera.
Embora Daniel tenha trocado a palavra "Ufarsim" pela expressão "peres" quando interpretava a escritura misteriosa, não alterou de forma alguma a mensagem que Deus lhe entregara.
Então podemos concluir que, o profeta usou a palavra peres, que é o singular de ufarsim, visto que, essa expressão sugere mais prontamente, por um terrível jogo de palavras, tratar-se dos persas que já estavam às portas da cidade para suceder ao império babilônico.

MYSTERIOUS WRITING
The Bible answers:
Why did, when Daniel interpreted the mysterious words written by the finger of God, omit the words 'UPHARSIN' putting in its place the word 'peres'?
These two words are Aramaic source, and, being this language easily assimilated in Babylon, we can assume that the perplexity of king Belshazzar and the sages were due, in part, to something unknown in the characters and also by the unexplained brevity of the message.
The dear reader must agree that when Daniel was asked to give an answer to the riddle above the wall of the palace, there was no attempt on their part to translate it, but simply interpret it, conniving with the revelation that God gave him.
Thus, although Daniel has replaced the word "UPHARSIN" peres when the term interpreted the mysterious writing, did not alter in any way the message that God had given him.
So we can conclude that the prophet used the word 'peres', which is the unique UPHARSIN, since this term suggests more readily, by a terrible play on words, that it was the Persians who were already at the gates of the city to succeed the Babylonian empire.
