"A palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz…" —Hebreus 4:12
A Palavra de Deus não é simplesmente uma coleção de palavras que foram pronunciadas por Deus, um veículo para comunicar idéias ou uma condensação de tinta e papel; ela é viva, transforma vidas, e é dinâmica à medida que opera em nós.
Com a precisão de corte do bisturi de um cirurgião, a Palavra de Deus revela quem somos e o que não somos. Ela penetra o centro de nossa vida moral e espiritual. Ela faz a divisão entre alma e espírito, junta e medula. Discerne o que está dentro de nós, tanto o bem como o mal.
As exigências da Palavra de Deus requerem decisões. Não devemos apenas ouvir a Palavra; devemos permitir que ela molde a nossa vida. Ela é como uma lâmpada para iluminar o nosso caminho (Salmos. 119:105) e Deus concedeu a nós para nos dar capacidade a cumprir os propósitos de Deus (1ª a Tim. 3:16-17).

"The word of God is living and powerful ..."-Hebrews 4:12
The Word of God is not simply a collection of words that were spoken by God, a vehicle for communicating ideas or a condensation of ink and paper; it is alive, changes lives, and is dynamic as it operates in us.
With the cutting precision of a surgeon's scalpel, the Word of God reveals who we are and what are not. It penetrates the center of our moral and spiritual life. It makes the division between soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil.
The demands of God's Word require decisions. We must not only hear the Word, we must allow it to mold our lives. It is like a lamp to illuminate our path (Ps. 119:105), and God gave it to us so we must have ability to fulfill His purposes (1st to Timothy 3:16-17).
