"O batismo com o Espírito Santo é o selo da promessa?"
A Bíblia responde:
Uma das muitas obras do Espírito Santo é a de selar. Este serviço Ele o faz no momento em que a pessoa aceita Cristo como Salvador: "E tendo nele crido, fostes selados com o Espírito Santo da promessa, o qual é o penhor da nossa herança", Ef 1.13,14. É oportuno dizer algo sobre o selo do Espírito Santo nesta dispensação. Muitos confundem selo com batismo, dizendo serem ambos uma mesma coisa. Não.
O selo do Espírito é a garantia de que somos, a partir da nossa conversão, propriedade exclusiva do Senhor nosso Deus; e, como afirma Norman Harrison em Efésio, o Evangelho das Regiões Celestes, comentando Efésios 1.13 e 14: "Quando cremos, o Espírito procura assegurar o seu direito em nós. Este é o seu trabalho selador. A palavra selar tem três significados:
1. Uma transação terminada. É imutável o selo de autoridade, é como quando o tabelião sela um feito ou qualquer documento com selo governamental.
2. Marca da posse. É como quando o gado ou as ovelhas na fazenda são marcadas, estabelecendo-se o direito de propriedade.
3. Garantia de entrega segura. É como quando um pacote ou um carro é selado pela companhia transportadora. Isso proíbe qualquer embaraço que impeça o objeto de chegar ao seu destino. Em cada um e em todos esses sentidos, são os salvos do Senhor Jesus selados com o selo do Espírito.
Quando Paulo fala do selo referindo-se à pessoa que crer no Senhor, ele evoca os costumes daquelas terras de os negociantes de madeira marcarem com o seu nome (selo) as toras; e quando os servos iam buscá-las não tinham dificuldade no reconhecimento, por estar nelas gravado o selo do seu proprietário. O gado marcado com a marca do nome de seu senhor não podia de modo nenhum misturar-se com outro gado.
Também o Espírito de Deus sela os crentes para não se misturarem com os mundanos: 2 Tm 2.19. Sendo ele o penhor da nossa herança, no dia da redenção seremos conhecidos pela marca que nos caracteriza: 2 Co 1.22; 5.5. Precisamos da assistência do Paracleto celeste até o dia da nossa completa redenção. Nesse dia, o nosso corpo será libertado de todos os males que ainda o afligem: Rm 8.23.

AND, THE SEAL OF PROMISE?

One of the many works of the Holy Spirit is the seal. He
does this service at the time a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior: "In whom also, having believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
which is the earnest of our inheritance," Eph 1.13,14. It should say something about the seal of the Holy Spirit in this dispensation. Many confuse seal with baptism, they are both saying the same thing. No.
The
seal of the Spirit is the guarantee that we, from our conversion, are the
exclusive property of the Lord our God, and as Norman Harrison said in
Ephesians, the Gospel of the Celestial Regions, commenting Ephesians 1:13
and 14: "When we believe the Spirit seeks to ensure his right to us. This is his job sealing.
The word seal has three meanings:
1. A transaction completed. It is the immutable stamp of authority, as when the notary seals a fact or any document done to the government.
2. Mark of ownership. It's like when cattle or sheep on the farm are marked, establishing the right of ownership.
3. Guaranteed safe delivery. It's like when a package or a car is sealed by the transportation company. This prohibits any embarrassment that prevents the object from arriving at its destination. In each and all these senses, they are the saved of the Lord Jesus sealed with the seal of the Spirit.
When
Paul speaks of the label referring to the person who believes in the
Lord, he evokes the customs of those lands for the traders of wood mark
with their names (seal) the logs, and when the servants were going to pick
them had no difficulty in recognizing, to be engraved on them the stamp of its owner. Cattle marked with the brand name of his master could not in any way to mingle with other cattle.
And the Spirit of God seals believers not to mix with the mundane: 2 Tim 2:19. Being
Him the earnest of our inheritance, on the day of redemption will be known
by the brand that characterizes us: 2 Cor 1:22; 5.5. We need the assistance of the heavenly Paraclete until the day of our complete redemption. That day, our body will be freed from all evils that still afflict it: Romans 8:23.
